The first of Loos' realizations in his home town, adaptations to a terraced house on Jiráskova street, date back to 1910. The house was built in 1888-89 and remodelled by Adolf Loos for Karel Herold, the owner of a factory for technical flax and burlap. Of importance was the annex of a western wing and the grand adaptations of the living room. Loos, in all probability, also designed the composition of the façade although the artistic elements on the façade as well as the changes to the staircase are the work of an unknown artist, perhaps from the Viennese environment.
