„Genius loci of the slope above Lužánky, the Tugendhat Villa and its photogenic character“
Last lecture before the summer will focus on an exceptional location in Brno and the Villa Tugendhat. In 1860, the first residential colony in Brno was formed on a slope of Černá Pole above the Lužánky park. The genius loci of the place was amplified in 1930 with one of the most famous villa buildings in the world. The historical context, but also the details and changes over time will be the subject of lectures by editors of a recently published first comprehensive monograph "Mies in Brno. Villa Tugendhat." The photogenic character of the famous icon of modern architecture will be presented by a photographer who has been capturing its transformation as well as its unchanging timelessness for almost a decade.
