Private detective Jake Gittes (Jack Nicholson) is hired by Evelyn Mulwray (Faye Dunaway) to investigate the possible infidelity of Evelyn‘s husband. In the milieu of sun-drenched California of the 1930’s and along with the main hero, we gradually unravel an intricate social network that is imbued with a wide range of injustices, lies and scandals. This film by legendary director Roman Polanski from 1974 was awarded an Oscar for the screenplay, written by Oscar Town and is the icon of film noir and detective stories.
