In the following months, Villa Tugendhat will be the venue of an extensive shooting of a film „The Glass Room“. For this reason, the villa will be completely closed to the public during several dates.
Making of the film based on the novel The Glass Room, will take place in the Villa Tugendhat in three stages.
The individual stages are divided as follows:
March 2018: 1–15 March
June 2018: 11–18 June
July 2018: 1–13 July
On the above-mentioned dates, visitors will be unfortunately completely excluded from the whole area of Villa Tugendhat, i.e. both the interior as well as the garden.
The film “The Glass Room”
The film will be based on a very successful novel of the same name by British writer Simon Mawer. The main storyline contains a fictional love story that takes place in the city of Brno, especially at Villa Landauer (the literary Villa Tugendhat). The main roles will be portrayed by Carice van Houten, Hanna Alström, Karel Roden and Karel Dobrý. The premiere of the film is scheduled for spring 2019.
