Nova synagoga Zilina – Villa Tugendhat Brno
Czech-Slovak tandem visitor-centres of inter-war architecture monuments of European significance in Zilina and Brno and their contribution to the development of cross-border tourism.
This International Seminar is aimed at the professional discussion on strategies for promoting cultural heritage in border regions of the Czech Republic and the Slovak Republic and on possible joint action. The discussion is focused on exploring the potential of the inter-war architecture monuments while increasing the tourism and on animation activities for the valuation of attractiveness of monuments during their reconstruction. Villa Tugendhat will present its methodology of public relations and the role of the Study Documentation Centre. Following people shall speak at the Seminar: for Villa Tugendhat – Iveta Černá, the Director; Eliška Veselovská, PR Manager; Karel Havliš, Petra Hlaváčková, the architects; for Nová synagóga / kunsthalle Žilina – Fedor Blaščák, the Project promoter; Katarína Gatialová, the Curator; Róbert Blaško and Peter Snadík, the Project Managers; Martin Jančok, the Chief Architect of the reconstruction, and as a special guest František Stano, the theorist of tourism. The Seminar is accessible to the public. This event is part of the cooperation between Brno City Museum, Villa Tugendhat and Nova synagoga / kunsthalle Zilina within the framework of the "Czech-Slovak tandem visitor-centres of inter-war architecture monuments of European significance in Zilina and Brno and their contribution to the development of cross-border tourism" project, supported in the Cross-border Cooperation Programme Slovak Republic – Czech Republic 2007–2013. The Micro-project is co-financed by the European Union through the European Regional Development Fund.
