On Friday, 1 July in the evening, the garden of Villa Tugendhat opens for dancers and lovers of classic films. Visitors will witness a rich programme starting at 6 pm with a lesson of the basic steps of swing dancing, followed by a possibility to dance with live and recorded swing music.
The whole programme will culminate at 21.30 when the film Singin' in the Rain (directed by Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen, 1952), will be screened on the large format windows of the main living area of Villa Tugendhat, using the so-called rear projection. A musical comedy, whose main star, the charming actor Gene Kelly, will be screened in original version with Czech subtitles. Spectators will be able to watch the film directly from the lawn in the garden of the villa, therefore own blankets are advised.
