The Fate Named Tugendhat

An art documentary by director Rudolf Chudoba from 2012 presents the fate and history not only of the Villa Tugendhat, but also of its owners and the architect. The story is presented in the form of a docu-drama, thus combining documentary parts with acted scenes. It is divided into three main story lines. The first is devoted to the fate of the builders, the family of Fritz and Greta Tugendhat, the second presents the historical and artistic context of the time when this exceptional modern architecture was created. The last storyline is devoted to the complex monument restoration, which took place in 2010–2012.

Villa Tugendhat – Monument Restoration in 2010–2012

The second film by Rudolf Chudoba was completed last year, and focuses its attention to the preparation and process of the monument restoration which took place at Villa Tugendhat in 2010–2012. The documentary includes a series of unique interviews, including the daughter of the original owners Daniela Hammer-Tugendhat. Viewers are offered a unique insight behind the scenes of the restoration process of the entire building.
