From 20 March to 20 April, the exhibition "Villa Tugendhat 1928–2013" will be on display at the Bremen School of Architecture. The exhibition was created in 2012 and consists of 14 comprehensive themes dealing with the history of the villa during several time periods. The information panels are complemented by large-format photographs that characterise the atmosphere of the Tugendhat Villa through details of design furniture, material and iconic parts of the house, such as the chrome casing of a column in the interior or a view through a longitudinal window into the garden of the villa. The exhibition also includes a 1:50 model of the building.
The exhibition will be opened by prof. Clemens Bonnen, Head of the Bremen School of Architecture a lecture will be presented by Mgr. Lucie Valdhansová, curator of Villa Tugendhat.
This exhibition was presented to great acclaim and success in 2012 in Chicago, at the Royal Institute of British Architects RIBA in London, and the Czech National House in New York - Bohemian National Hall in Manhattan; a year later, in Holland – the Institute of Urbanism at the Hogeschool in Utrecht, the Czech Centre in Rotterdam and at the Department of Architecture of the Technical University of Eindhoven. In 2014 it was presented in the Museum of the City of Bratislava and in Stuttgart – in the exhibition hall of the Weissenhof Museum, which is located in a house designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. In 2015, the exhibition travelled to the Grassi Museum in Leipzig, CIVA Gallery in Brussels, the Museum of Applied Arts in Vienna and Luca School of the Arts in Ghent. In 2016 it was presented at the Villa Stenersen in Oslo and in the Milan Urban Center, followed by a „Hungary tour“, visiting the FUGA architectural centre in Budapest, later Pécs and in the MODEM gallery (Centre for Modern and Contemporary Art) in Debrecen. In autumn it wen on to an Austrian destination at Stadtmuseum in St. Pölten. In 2017, the exhibition was presented in Lviv, Romania (Bucharest) and in autumn in the Norbertov Study and Documentation Centre in Prague.
