Iveta Černá, Dagmar Černoušková, Eliška Veselovská and David Židlický undertook a study and working visit to the Museum of Modern Art in New York in July 2011. They had the opportunity to gain a detailed acquaintance with the archive documentation regarding Villa Tugendhat in Brno in the archive of the architect Ludwig Mies van der Rohe housed in the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). They were also able to document the original seating furniture located in the depository of furniture in MoMA. They additionally established cooperation with Paul Galloway who is the Study Centre supervisor for the Department of Architecture and Design at MoMA. The specialists from Brno also introduced the colleagues from New York to the archive materials concerning Villa Tugendhat housed in the Brno City Museum and at the Study and Documentation Centre in Villa Tugendhat. Both centres could consequently cooperate in the future on publications, exhibition and lecturing projects concerning Villa Tugendhat.

Cooperation was also established with the Czech Center New York at the Bohemian National Hall, currently managed by Pavla Niklová, and with the general consul of the Czech Republic which is located here and which is run by the consulate general Eliška Zigová, during the study and working visit to the USA. The city of Brno which ranked between the wars amongst the main European centres of now classic Modern architecture could consequently be presented in New York in the form of exhibitions and lectures about Villa Tugendhat and Brno Modern architecture as part of the propagation of Czech culture in the USA.
