Prof. Ing. Bohumil Kočí, CSc. is Professor emeritus at the Faculty of Civil Engineering of the Brno University of Technology. He worked for a number of years as director of Brno Building Company and Gottwaldov (Zlín) Building Company and as Building Director for a  United States Steel Corporation. As a graduate of the industrial school he was sent to Villa Tugendhat at the beginning of the 1940s in order to carry out minor construction remodelling for Walter Messerschmidt.
