The 1st International Engineering Trade Fair took place in Brno in September 1958 which generated a construction boom on the grounds. The extent and high architectural and construction design level of the new pavilions was comparable with the avant-garde activity from the year 1928. Pavilion C (Miloš Matiovský, Ferdinand Lederer) and Z (Zdeněk Alexa, Zdeněk Denk, Ferdinand Lederer, Zdeněk Pospíšil, Milan Steinhauser) were built in 1958-59 while the high-rise administrative building (Miroslav Spurný, Antonín Ševčík) was completed in 1960.
