A separate architectural exhibition, On the New Brno. Brno Architecture 1919-1939 had been opened, a year earlier in 1998, in the Brno City Museum at Špilberk Castle. This was the first and only permanent exhibition of architecture in the Czech Republic. This presents the most significant period in the construction development of the City of Brno, without a doubt exceeding both Prague and Vienna and maintaining step with leading European centres of Modern architecture, by means of original documents: plans, papers, photographs, publications, furniture, etc.
