The head of Villa Tugendhat, Ing. arch. Iveta Černá, participated in the international conference “Mies Here and There” on January 21, 2012 at the Illinois Institute of Technology (IIT) in Chicago. IIT and the Mies van der Rohe Society in the USA organised the exhibition “Villa Tugendhat” prepared by Iveta Černá, Dagmar Černoušková and Atelier Židlický in the Crown Hall in IIT (an authorial structure by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe). Iveta Černá and Ivo Hammer spoke about Villa Tugendhat and the final renewal work in Chicago with the participation of, amongst other people, the architect Dirk Lohan, the grandson of Ludwig Mies van der Rohe. The conference and exhibition about Villa Tugendhat met with great interest on the part of both the specialised and lay public and media (the Chicago Tribune, etc.). The exhibition “Vila Tugendhat” was also presented at the Czech consulate in Chicago.
